Simulcast Planning Update

I so enjoyed last Monday's meeting. Thanks so much to all the ladies who brought food and to those who came to learn how they can serve in women's ministry. Our first major event will be the Priscilla Shirer simulcast on April 1-2, and there's a lot of work to be done. We still need ladies who will volunteer to help. There are several teams on which you can serve: registration, hospitality, prayer/encouragers, and publicity. We will also need ladies to serve as greeters at the event, and we may still need bookstore help. If you would like to help in any way, please let Claudia Davis or me know.

Perhaps one of the most important ways you can help is to pray. Pray for the steering team as we plan. Pray for the women God will send to this event, not only at our church, but also at churches all over the country. Pray for Priscilla as she prepares to share God's word with us. Pray that God will prepare your own heart. Pray that our technology works! :)

I will continue to post information and updates as plans continue to develop. In the meantime, start spreading the word and inviting your friends.

Time to Post Verse 2

Okay, Ladies, if you are participating in the scripture memory challenge, today is the day to post your second verse. If you want to participate on Beth Moore's site, be sure to go here to post your verse. Don't forget to post here, too! I want us to see each of our verses and be encouraged by each other as we saturate our minds with God's word.

Now for the tough part; I have to think of a verse! I don't know why that is so hard for me. Maybe it's not wanting to say one verse is more important than any other or pick just one that I need. (That would be evident in the fact that when I was a child, after being told I could highlight important verses in my Bible, I highlighted the entire book of Genesis. How could I say any verse wasn't important?) Or, maybe I'm just indecisive! Either way, I'll be thinking about which verse I will memorize, and I will update later to add it here.

Oh! If you're a techie like I am, and you have an iPhone or iPad, there is a new app for the scripture memory team. In the app store, search for Beth Moore SMT. It's free!

If you didn't start out with scripture memory this year, it's never too late! Just pick a verse, write it down, and start hiding it in your heart. You will be blessed by meditating on God's word. Let's make this the year we grow in our faith and in our service for the Lord.

Also, don't forget tomorrow is our Women's Ministry Team meeting after the morning service. If you signed up to be on this team, or if you would like to be on this team, please join us.

I love you all and am so happy to be serving alongside you!

Welcome!

Welcome to the new blog for First Baptist Mauriceville's Women's Ministry. This is a place where I will post announcements, upcoming events, thoughts, ideas, and other ramblings! I am so excited about this new year in our church as we seek to bring the gospel to Mauriceville, TX so "that all may worship." It is my desire that the Women's Ministry will reach out to Mauriceville and the surrounding areas to reach women with the knowledge that God loves them and sent His Son to die for them. My prayer is that each of you will be praying, studying, worshiping, and seeking God's will as He leads you to fulfill your part in His kingdom!

Are you ready? Let's get started!

This Sunday will officially be the kickoff of our Women's Ministry Team. If you signed up to help, or even if you didn't and think you might want to help, please plan on staying after the morning worship service for a light lunch and planning session. We will begin planning for our Priscilla Shirer simulcast in April. We will need plenty of help, so please plan to stay and encourage a friend to stay with you!

I also wanted to make you aware of another opportunity that I believe will make an enormous impact on your life. Beth Moore has begun a scripture memory commitment on her blog. Each person who signs up makes the commitment to memorize 24 scriptures over the next year (one every two weeks). I can hardly stand it when I think about what God might do in our lives and in our church if we make the commitment to meditating on His word throughout this next year. If you want to participate, you can find the instructions
here. (Just click on the link!) The post where you post your first verse is here. I know it officially started on the first, but it's not too late. You can do this! If you decide to participate, post your scripture as a comment on this blog. I think it will be great for us all to share what we're learning and support each other in our commitments.

I'll go first! "Be anxious for nothing but in everything, through prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Phil. 4: 6-7

I am so looking forward to serving with you this year!
